Meet the team

Mindbridge is led by Kate Lanz, with a small, hand-picked team of partners and associates.

Kate Lanz
CEO, mindbridge

Kate Lanz specialises in consulting and coaching at senior levels including the Board. Kate has had a successful international corporate career, notably as an International General Manager with Diageo. She successfully established international, in-market businesses and also ran regions in both the branded spirits and beer sectors. When she stepped out of the corporate environment, Kate undertook a degree in Psychology with a view to specialising in leadership work. Kate has a degree in Modern Languages, a Post Graduate in International Commerce, an MBA and a BSc in Psychology. She is also a qualified coaching supervisor.

Kate is currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Applied Neuroscience in Organisations. Kate became fascinated by the ‘brain at work’ after the financial crisis in 2008, when she noticed some clear patterns in the behaviours of her clients at the time. Kate started to look at the return on investment on the performance of some of the brains of the clients she was working with at that time. Since then, she has embarked on doctoral research in the field and, in partnership with some of her clients, is investigating what it takes in the modern organisation to truly enable a ‘brain-friendly’ working culture.

Kate has established mindbridge, a consulting company specialising in Applied Neuroscience for Business, where she leads a small team of professionals with the relevant experience and credentials.

Kate’s clients include Allianz, Morgan Stanley, Lloyds Bank, Ernst & Young, Deutsche Bank, Disney, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, John Lewis, Waitrose, Accenture, amongst many others. Kate also coaches globally on a wide range of general and tailor-made executive programmes at the INSEAD Global Leadership Centre. Over many years, she has worked with international business leaders at INSEAD in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and joint programmes with Wharton and Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Kate was invited to be a founder member on a worldwide panel of 50 coaches for the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC). She is an accredited member of the Association of Professional Executive Coaches and Supervisors (APECS) and is an accredited coaching supervisor with the Coaching Supervision Academy (CSA). Kate is ICF recognised.

Kate is a qualified coaching supervisor. She brings cutting edge, applied neuroscience to her supervision and is one of only a handful of supervisors globally to do so.

Kate has published numerous articles on coaching and book chapters on coaching supervision and team coaching.

Dr Theresa Dzendrowskyj
Senior Associate, mindbridge

Dr Theresa Dzendrowskyj is a senior associate for mindbridge.

Theresa graduated with a BA in Psychology and worked as a research psychologist and subsequent neuroscientist in the US and then in Australia. She gained a PhD in cerebral cancer research before moving into commerce, where she gained her MBA.

Theresa worked in industry as a senior manager for over 12 years within the business and healthcare environments. Her expertise lies within external relations and communications, marketing, recruitment and advancement.

After training as an executive-performance coach, Theresa joined mindbridge in 2014. Her oncology doctorate and commercial experience give her a unique set of skills to operate within the business and healthcare arenas. Here, together with the mindbridge team, Theresa specialises in teaching mindfulness and coaching senior managers on leadership, performance and lasting behaviour change. She focuses on ‘brain health and well-being’ as crucial ingredients for effective leadership and performance.

Theresa has spoken as a guest lecturer for a Clinical Leadership MSc Programme at Kingston University and St George’s, University of London and for the Applied Neuroscience in Organisations MSc at Middlesex University.

Her passion for exploring issues in a safe and playful environment means that working with Theresa is always fun, as well as performance-focused.

Doug Montgomery
Independent Accredited Executive Coach

After 28 years at GlaxoSmithKline, Doug understands what it is to perform and lead in a challenging and fast-moving environment. He started out as a Ph.D. research scientist, progressing to become a senior leader managing staff and projects globally. Doug’s passion for supporting the development of others to fulfil their full potential led to him becoming an internal coach. He has since left his corporate role and now works as an independent executive coach and coaching supervisor, in addition to training coaches and running coaching skills courses for leaders.

Doug has built up particular experience coaching individuals and leaders from a STEM background, and also coaches clients from a variety of backgrounds and in organisations of all sizes. A large part of his work is with clients who are preparing for or entering transitions in their roles, careers and lives. He knows that we all get stuck in our own stories of what type of person or leader we are, and what we can and cannot do, which can limit our performance and stifle our potential. In a non-judgemental and supportive way, he challenges beliefs and assumptions to enable his clients to see themselves and their situation from different viewpoints, bringing previously unimagined possibilities to light and potential within reach. Working with Doug is both challenging and fun.

Ongoing professional and personal development is important to Doug, and he is an accredited member of the Association of Professional Executive Coaches and Supervisors (APECS), a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and an accredited supervisor with the Coaching Supervision Academy (CSA). In addition, he is also an accredited coach and mentor trainer with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Doug Montgomery

Beverley Lovell
Business Administrator, mindbridge

Beverley Lovell is a business administrator, supporting people and business. Following her high school education, Bev started her career learning all aspects of business at a printing firm. She then spent five years supporting a company in the first ever networking of the Police National Computer systems. After the birth of her first child, she moved to Cranfield University in the Management Information System team, providing support to both the academic staff and students. In 2001, an opportunity arose to be part of a small team at, a business solutions company in the mobile market. As Operations Director, Bev was instrumental in the company expanding into the US market and sourcing offices and staff at new UK premises and in the US.

A decision to step back from the travel and long hours involved in being part of 2sms brought Bev to a meeting with Kate Lanz. Bev has worked alongside Kate for ten years, providing Kate with administrative support for her executive coaching business, with her clients and with business development.

Beverley Lovell

Harry Lanz
App developer, mindbridge

Harry is a student at Imperial College, London, studying Aeronautical Engineering. He has helped with the mindbridge app development, specifically the algorithm to generate the thriveability score for the user and choosing what kind of data to collect to yield the most practical results. The app is designed to improve the user’s working life by showing behavioural patterns and helping to push them in a more positive direction.

Helen Lanz
Materials development, mindbridge

Helen works behind the scenes with Bev, helping to develop and produce the materials for the bespoke, individual coaching and neurosmart™ programmes. She has over twenty years’ experience in developing educational materials. Helen started her career in education, graduating with a B.Ed. (Hons) degree and is a qualified teacher. Helen moved into the educational publishing industry, having achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Publishing, working with a variety of renowned educational and commercial publishers. Helen has over 18 years of experience in developing distance-learning materials with The Open University. She combines this with an HND in Graphic Design to help produce individual and engaging materials for Kate’s coaching programmes.
